Street construction on the corner of 2nd West and 1st North, past BMC West and Steiner’s grain elevators, made a sleeker and more functional 4-lane road. Sidewalks and a walking signal were also constructed to encourage safer foot-traffic. This project was competed in 2014. The Urban Renewal Agency owns the land on the south east corner of the project area. This is highlighted green on the map below. The land is almost one acre and could sell for $500,000. A request for proposals of purchase for this land will be published in 2015.
The Rexburg URA committed approximately $700,000 to the street improvements project.
