Construction began in Fall 2014 and was completed at the end of Summer 2015. The remodeling consisted of adding a second story which will include upstairs living quarters, a training facility, offices, and a conference room.

In 2013, the Rexburg URA provided financing for the Fire Department project in the amount of $770,000. In 2014, the Fire Department asked the Rexburg URA for an additional $100,000 of support due to the construction bids coming in at a higher price than anticipated. The board approved the request for additional funds. The total project costs approximately $1.8 million of which the Rexburg URA contributed $870,000. The project consisted of remodeling the building and adding a second story which includes an upstairs living quarters, training facility, offices, and a conference room.
